Last week all 3 kids stayed home from school because of the stomach bug. I’m not saying all 3 kids actually had the stomach bug, only one actually did, but the others were suffering from sympathy pains & stomach bug anxiety. And when it comes to possibly spreading the stomach bug, especially close to the holidays, I don’t mess around.
After a few too many hours in front of the tv, I decided we should make the most of our afternoon and make a garland for their Christmas tree. We always get the kids a small tree that we put in the dining room that they get to decorate. It’s where they put their wrapped presents for each other from the Santa Shop at school and it’s just a great excuse for me to get another tree in the house! (We are up to 3 now b/c I fell in love with a tinsel tree at At Home and talked Mike into us getting it! Yay!)
Anyway, so I went through our art supplies and tried to find something easy but also fun and decided on some foam board and markers.( I also grabbed a couple wooden tools to press designs into the foam board.) I cut circles out of the foam and the kids got to work decorating! Their decorations ran the gamut from Christmas-themed to shark-themed to soccer-themed and I love how colorful and crafty they look! We poked holes in the top of each, strung them on yarn and voila! A garland for their tree!
